Philosophy, teaching of values and personal growth make practice a lifestyle
Being encouraged to do your best, push your limits, get back up even stronger after a fall, and respect your opponent sounds promising, doesn’t it? This is the description of the philosophy that guides martial arts.
Claims that physical, mental and spiritual development can be achieved through practice are not a huge exaggeration, they are facts.
This activity allows you to connect with what is most valuable to you: your essence. And this is the focus of Ayam, a martial arts school that has been transforming the lives of children, teenagers and adults for over 30 years.
Meet Ayam
We live the solid foundations of martial arts every day. Under the same sound vibration of amen, om and aum – known mantras for peace, concentration and serenity – the word AYAM also carries with it meanings.
With the same pronunciation as “I am” in English, the expression aligns with our purpose of showing students their physical and mental strength through martial arts.
From the warm-up to the lane change, from the first technique learned to the most complex movement, everything is a cause for celebration for us. With body and mind united, the values of a balanced life inside and outside the tatami are strengthened.
Exchange of knowledge and co-construction of values: this is our DNA
Support and assistance to students in all necessary areas is our top priority. We have put together a qualified and competent team that works with multidisciplinary teaching.
In addition to physical educators, we have physiotherapists, psychologists and pedagogues. In this way, we ensure that both physical and psychological aspects receive the attention they deserve and are equally constantly evolving.
New knowledge, development of methodologies and new techniques, courses and programs offered by Ayam continue to be continuously improved, always maintaining a balance between modern and traditional.
Passion that becomes inspiration for teaching
At the head of the school are the masters Plentz and Ribella. With years of dedication to the discipline, they are driven by the challenge of teaching and sharing the values of sport.
Find out more about them:
Mestre Plentz

Born in Rio Grande do Sul, he discovered his love for martial arts at an early age and, at the age of eight, earned his first black belt.
His heart beats faster for taekwondo, a sport to which he dedicates almost thirty years of his life. In addition to participating in world championships and winning titles, he holds the 5th DAN (black belt).
His fascination with practice extends to teaching. Sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas and actively participating in the development of his students are a daily stimulus for him.
Mestre Rebel
After winning her first belt at 16, Ribella has been training since she was seven. The diverse experiences of his life only increased the importance of practicing martial arts even more.
He deeply values the positive effect that the practice has, both on the body and the mind. Therefore, he actively participated in the development of the training method used in Ayam, capable of developing both areas.
Having also achieved 5th DAN (black belt), he feels the honor of being able to share his knowledge and decades of experience in martial arts with students.
Develop body, spirit and mind

At Ayam we have 12 pillars that guide students’ physical and emotional development. This means that each stage achieved has meaning and shows the individual that his or her achievements, whatever they may be, have value.
Through positive reinforcement of actions, we condition students’ brains to seek good results at every stage of training. Discover the pillars:
- Yes, I can
- Body and mind
- Motivation
- Discipline
- Perseverance
- Responsibility
- Respect
- Courtesy
- Honor
- Resilience
- Direction
- Live like a black belt
Philosophy that governs the school
Being determined to continue to surpass yourself, reaching the peak of self-confidence and maintaining your well-being are the best results.
With great power comes great responsibility, so developed skills must be used for knowledge and defense.
We encourage our students to honor shared values, and it is this focus that shapes the reality of those who learn with us.
But after all, what martial arts does Ayam teach?
The practice includes different modalities, each with its benefits, but in Ayam it is not necessary to choose one or the other.
Our commitment to your development goes beyond set limits, which is why we have a methodology that addresses a mix of techniques, giving you the best of each style:
There is room for everyone on the tatami

Overcoming limits, sociability and discipline are taught by our teachers in such a didactic way that the little ones throw themselves headlong into this fun journey.
In our special programs, children from the age of 2 can now experience all the benefits offered by martial arts.
We maintain a welcoming environment, where the little ones can expend all their energy and learn valuable lessons.

In adult life
Wellbeing, stress relief and physical activity mean quality of life. What’s the reason for not starting now? The faster you move to improve your habits, the faster you will get results.
We also know that the busyness of everyday life can be a hindrance in many ways, including spending time with those you love so much. But martial arts also creates connections and strengthens bonds.
In the family
How about a family workout? At Ayam you can get the physical and mental benefits that martial arts offers and also spend quality time with your family.
We offer students a class capable of meeting the needs of every age group, that is, father, mother and children receive the attention they deserve and grow together.
Experience the best of martial arts
We have already presented its benefits in theory, how about trying them in practice? Schedule a trial class at one of our units and feel the transformative power of martial arts.
