The 2022/2023 competitive season began under the best auspices for the Karate Club Castelginest. Two of our kata competitors took first place on the podium. A real pride for our club which could not have hoped for a better start for this new sport.
The Haute-Garonne Departmental Cup
On November 5, 2022, the Haute-Garonne Departmental Kata/Fighting Cup was held at the Maison des Arts Martiaux (MAM) in Saint-Orens, one of the first sporting events of the season. Organized by the Departmental Karate Committee of Haute-Garonne, this event was the opportunity for the Castelginest Karate Club to start testing themselves on the tatami.
This competition brought together three categories of competitors registered in a club in Haute-Garonne: chicks, pupils and younger children. The morning was dedicated to kata competitors and the afternoon to fighting competitors. The karateka clashes in the final and the awards ceremony took place at the end of each category under the gaze and applause of the spectators.
The competitors of the Karate Club Castelginest
The Castelginest Karate Club has two competitors this year. A brother consisting of Sven BÖSCH and his little sister Tiana BÖSCH. Having been part of our staff for several years now, our two karateka were able, thanks to their work and their desire, to start participating in competitions last year.
Competition results
After completing his kata, Sven took first place in the Student category (8/9 years). There were 13 participants in this category. Kata are sequences of codified karate techniques.
Entered in the Chicks (6/7 years) category, Tiana also took first place. This is the very first category to be able to participate in competitions. They were two registered competitors.
