Starting from the most obvious principle, “GI”; which means
simply “technical”. Then, you will be assessed on your knowledge and
your ability to present the required techniques respecting the details
taught how to swing, breathe, good foot postures, etc.
We then continue with “TAÏ” which means “body”. This criterion consists of evaluating your own
physical fitness in relation to your age, gender, physical limitations, etc.
Obviously a karateka who is 7, 17 or 77 years old will not be evaluated in the same way.
manner. Furthermore, it is important to remember that this criterion is very personal
each, since it is about evaluating your personal progress, in relation to yours
personal challenges.
Finally, the last criterion “SHIN” means “spirit”. You have a
positive spirit? Are you mentally strong enough to overcome difficulties head on?
high? You have “kokoro” (heart, passion) during exams and practices
? Do you always try to give your best?
In conclusion, this rating system allows it to adapt to all karateka, because this
martial art is a discipline that suits all those who seek to bring out the
better than themselves. If one of these criteria is weaker, for example “GI” why
that you lack mobility, but we see improvements with each one
exam and practice assiduously on this point, the “TAÏ” as well as the “SHIN” will do it
oscillation. What you need to understand is that we are here to bring out the
the best of each of you and become a better version of yourself-
even, one step at a time. I conclude with this very simple but weighty sentence
truth, which has followed us throughout our journey: a black belt is only a
white belt who never gave up…
