▷ vital point / Koppo Jutsu Kyusho densho, 1904

Kyusho – the art of vital points creates real myths. I have collected information about it and tested many things from various texts since I started practicing martial arts. Yet true knowledge of the vital points cannot be revealed in a “secret” text.

It is a difficult art that requires practice, openness and correct understanding of the angle of attack, the body’s natural weapon with which to hit that point and many others.

Any sketch/densho is two-dimensional. People have volume too, so these directions are only general. I can say that I understood many of these points better after training with Ishizuka-sensei thanks to that principle of «happy pain» that dance always applies, with a smile on its lips.

And you feel that the pain is terrible, but it is not with a bad intention, rather, it has the role of guiding you, of having something to copy in your subsequent practice as a model (kata). Pain resulting from training with Hatsumi-sensei they have in them something of another dimension, in the sense that often, the result of the pressure in one point has repercussions in a completely different part of the body… With Kacem I realized, over time, that with true master-disciple transmission, the densho acquires life, spirit and reveals a new world rich in sensations, far beyond what is called only pain. Slowly but surely, I came to discover, through practice, the healing side of these points, or rather balancers, as well as the true value that we should develop in martial arts – a science – the art of taking life (simple in essence), but above all of restoring/enriching/optimising it, on multiple levels and here martial arts become truly complex and multidisciplinary (medicine, psychology, therapy, sociology, consultancy, etc.).

The names of the points Kyusho from Koppo jutsu and general places. Their correct practice is done in the kata of Koto Ryu Koppojutsu.

Ura-kimon (internal door of the demon) – between the 4th and 5th ribs
Ryufu (crossing the willow tree) – Trachea
Rangiku (chopped chrysanthemum), Kasumi (fog) – pattern
Hiryuran (dragon chaos) – eyes
Shishiran (the chaos of the lion), Suigetsu (moon in apa) – solar plexus.
Kosei (tiger strength), Suzu (bell) – testicles
Yugagsumi (evening fog) – the empty area behind the ear
One year (dew and fog) – under the ear, on the jaw
Ryumon (dragon gate) – hollow areas in the shoulder bones
Jujiro (intersection) – the front part of the shoulder bone
Jakkotsu (weak bone) – the area above and below the elbow joint
Demon (the great door) – above and below the shoulder
Asagasumi (morning fog) – jaw
Kinketsu (opening prohibited) – sternum
Koshitsubo (hip vessel) – the central part of the hip bone
You (voice) – the empty area of the hips touched correctly brings suffering for 7 days
Tenmon (heavenly door) – around the eyes, nose
Amado (storm doors) – lymph glands in the neck area
Jinchu (human center) – under the nose
Lucky (8 leaves), Ryo-sode (both sleeves) – the technique against the ears called Chin (escape door).
Menu (facial area) – forehead
Dokkotsu (singular bone) – protruding bone, Adam’s apple
Gorin (5 rings), Gesuei (moonlight) – to the right of the navel
Gorin, Inazuma (scales) – to the left of the navel
You know (squash), Sakoku (left valley) – inner thigh

yusai (cooked right), Yukoku (right valley) – right inner thigh.

Your (pressing), Ryuka (under the dragon) – thigh
Matsukaze (the wind in the pines), Ittoki, Saint (3 shots) – soft areas of the neck, left right

Murasame (passing rain) – under the throat cavity
Seitaku (star mud) – cavity in the elbow area
yuin (right passive) – under the right eye
Understood (passive left) – under the left eye
