WELCOME TO LA VECINA!

_
In March 2007, the children’s home ‘La Vecina’ opened its doors in the neighbourhood Marlinda, approximately 10 km from the old centre of Cartegena, Colombia. A lot of fishermen live in this poor area. >

Mishel is a little three year old girl. Mishel was submitted to La Vecina by the Colombian children’s protection office (Bienestar). Mishel used to live on the streets with her younger sister and mother and is now offered a new chance. >

Nathalie Rietman (1973) is the neighbour! She took the initiative and started the foundation La Vecina in April 2005.

Cartagena is a fairly large city with many poor areas. A large part of the one million inhabitants of Cartagena lives in poor circumstances. Native refugees have settled on the outskirts of the city. >

At the moment we don't need volunteers.

Foundation La Vecina’s aim is to offer a positive contribution to the living conditions of deprived children in Cartagena, Colombia and to offer them a more positive future perspective.
